Get Involved with X-Media

X-Media Online

X-Media Online has the biggest audience of all the four media, with over 30,000 people visiting the site every month. If you want to have your articles seen by the world and be part of the future of journalism, or if you're interested in writing the code or running the servers which enable it, get in touch.

Writers

The internet is a great medium to write for, and enables a greater interactivity between the writer and their audience.

If you want to write for any of our sections (News, Sport or Features), contact the editors of the section you wish to write for. You can meet your editors on the Team page.

Photographers

If you're interested in providing us with photos for events, or our stock gallery, we're always on the look out for photographers with a good eye. Contact the Site Manager for more information, and take a look at the wanted photos for the wiki.

Technical

The site is always in need of people with an enthusiasm for the technical side of things: PHP/MySQL developers, graphic designers and people with HTML/CSS/JavaScript skills (or not) are always welcome: we always have new ideas and things to implement, and we're always open to people's own ideas.

We also have two servers which we manage entirely ourselves and which need constant TLC. The technology we're using is cutting-edge, and our code is written to allow both beginners and more experienced coders to be able to code stuff really easily. No matter if you don't have any experience - get in contact and we'll see how you can get involved.

Getting a bit of technical experience looks great on the CV whether you're looking for a career in IT or not, and with the range of roles that are needed by the site to keep things ticking over there'll be something to focus your talents on if you do have a specific area you'd like to explore and gain skills in.

Committee

We currently have vacant positions available - take a look at the Team for details. If you're interested, contact the Site Manager for more information.

XpressionFM

Xpression FM is one of the few student-run radio stations in the country to have an FM license, broadcasting across campus on 87.7 FM.

There's a lot more to Xpression than presenting a show - we encourage anyone with the faintest interest in radio or broadcast media to give Xpression a go. If presenting isn't your idea of fun, then you can go into production, making jingles and adverts - or maybe you'd rather review new music as it comes in before its released in the shops? You'll get out what you put in, as the saying goes.

For more information, contact the relevant person on the XpressionFM contact page.

XTV

XTV is a NaSTA-affiliated student-run TV station, broadcasting online and in various locations on campus.

Whether you want to be in front of or behind the camera, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved with XTV. Just visit the XTV contact page for more information.

Exeposé

Exeposé is the University of Exeter's student-run newspaper, with a circulation of around 12,000 copies, printed every two weeks.

With a wide variety of sections, there's sure to be one you'll want to write for. Check out the Exeposé contact page for more information.
